Omar M. Yaghi has won the 2025 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for his pioneering work on Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs), materials that provide new solutions to global water and energy challenges. Born in Jordan to a Palestinian refugee family and educated in the U.S., Yaghi shares the honor with Japan’s Susumu Kitagawa and Australia’s Richard Robson. He received honorary Saudi citizenship in 2021.
