A tenth-grade student who failed seven subjects in the SSC selection exam allegedly led a protest after being denied permission to sit for the final examination. The incident occurred on Tuesday morning at Liakatganj School and College in Dowarabazar upazila of Sunamganj.
According to teachers, the student, Iftikhar Hossain, and several others who failed had been pressuring the authorities to allow them to take the SSC exam. When the teachers refused, Iftikhar, accompanied by 10–12 students, went to the school around 11:30am, argued with teachers, and later locked the head teacher’s office.
Iftikhar is the son of Abdul Aziz, a local BNP leader, former president of the Lakshmipur Union Volunteer Party, and a member of the school’s managing committee.
