A BNP leader, Mahmudul Hasan Mukta Chowdhury, and his wife, Laila Khatun, are accused of stealing a farmer's cow in Madarganj, Jamalpur, to host a feast for party supporters. The cow’s theft was discovered when the owner, Efaz Uddin, identified its skin at the feast venue. Police arrested two individuals, including a butcher, while the accused couple fled. The stolen cow was allegedly used to prepare biryani for a women’s rally. A case was filed against 12 people, and police stated legal action is ongoing against the suspects.
