BNP-nominated candidate Mohammad Abdul Malek, MP of Matlab North, has been placed on a five-day remand by the court in connection with the murder of a student during the July uprising. The order was issued after the accused was presented before the court.
According to police, Malek was arrested in Cumilla’s Daudkandi area following a tip-off. He is accused of involvement in the killing of a student during the protests. The court granted the remand after reviewing the case.
Law enforcement officials stated that further investigation is underway to uncover the facts surrounding the incident.
