Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized 21 bottles of Indian Lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD) and 19 blankets from the Benapole Express train at Mirpur in Kushtia today. Acting on intelligence about a drug shipment bound for Dhaka from Benapole, the BGB conducted a search operation at Poradah Junction Railway Station around 5:30 pm. Lieutenant Colonel Md Mahbub Murshed Rahman, commander of BGB Battalion-47, stated that the 50 ml bottles recovered are worth approximately Tk10.93 crore. The operation was led by Kushtia Battalion Assistant Director Zakirul Islam, who found the LSD—a psychedelic drug—in one of the train's coaches during the search.
