Being overwhelmed by the love of so many people today, it feels as though the emptiness left by losing my loved ones has been filled, and all of Bangladesh has become my family.

BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman said that the overwhelming love shown by people across the country has helped him overcome the pain of losing his loved ones, making the entire nation feel like his family. In a Facebook post on Thursday, he expressed deep grief and gratitude while laying his mother, former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia, to rest beside his father, martyred President Ziaur Rahman. He thanked party leaders, supporters, citizens, foreign dignitaries, and countries that sent condolences. Remembering his father and brother, he pledged to carry forward his mother’s legacy of serving the people and prayed for her soul’s peace.
