The interim government's Home Affairs Adviser, Lieutenant General (Retd.) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, emphasized that no criminal should be shown leniency, regardless of their influence. He noted that, in the past, some powerful individuals evaded justice, but this will no longer be tolerated. Chowdhury made these comments on Monday (November 4) after visiting the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) headquarters at Pilkhana in Dhaka. He acknowledged that while the country's law and order situation has seen slight improvement since the government change, it remains unsatisfactory. Addressing the BDR massacre, Chowdhury stated, “The BDR massacre will be re-investigated, and it must be done. A new investigative team will be formed soon. With many investigations already underway, this issue will also be pursued. I can’t specify what will happen, but one way or another, action will be taken.”
