Bangladeshi architect Marina Tabassum has been named Architect of the Year 2024 at the prestigious Dezeen Awards. Established in 2005, her studio is renowned for its environmentally sustainable, socially responsible, and culturally inspired designs that harmonize architecture with people and the environment. Globally acclaimed, Marina Tabassum was recently featured in Time magazine’s 100 Most Influential People of 2024 and has previously received honors such as the Soane Medal and the Aga Khan Award. The judges lauded her work as “in harmony with its surroundings” and highlighted her growing influence, positioning her as a strong contender for the Pritzker Architecture Prize.
