The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has rejected a national security proposal put forward by India. During an online ICC meeting, the BCB declined to accept the proposal from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
While there is speculation that some T20 World Cup matches may be shifted from India to Sri Lanka, the ICC has not made any final decision. Ongoing political tensions risk further straining cricketing relations between the two neighbors if the issue remains unresolved.
The BCB has also taken a firm stance following Mustafizur Rahman’s exclusion from the IPL, viewing the use of security concerns as disrespectful. As a result, Bangladesh has shown reluctance to travel to India for the World Cup, a position the ICC considers reasonable, placing the BCCI under increased pressure.
