Nazmul Islam posted on social media calling Tamim Iqbal an “Indian agent,” drawing criticism from both former and current cricketers.
To protest Nazmul’s controversial remark, the Cricketers’ Welfare Association of Bangladesh (CWA-B) held a press conference in Sylhet, demanding a public apology. However, Nazmul, a BCB director, has clearly stated he will not apologize.
Nazmul confirmed that apologizing is out of the question, but he must now respond to a show-cause notice. Aminul Islam Bulbul confirmed this today, speaking at a school cricket event at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium.
The BCB president said, “He posted this on his personal Facebook account, and we have asked him to respond. Before writing anything about a national team captain who has performed for the country, more thought and respect should have been shown.”
When asked whether Nazmul has been formally issued the notice, Aminul said, “He himself is a BCB director. Our board meeting is scheduled for January 24, where we will discuss this matter in detail and openly.”
