A leader of the banned Bangladesh Chhatra League has been arrested for allegedly making offensive remarks about Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) on Facebook in Singra upazila, Natore. Sakibul Hasan Swachchha, who serves as the general secretary of Ward-6 in the Chhatra League's Ramananda Khajura Union unit, was taken into custody from the Singra Bazar area around midnight on Sunday, according to Officer-in-Charge Asmaul Haque of Singra police station.
Police and local sources stated that Swachchha had posted derogatory comments about the Prophet (PBUH) in the comment section of a political post on Facebook. Once these remarks spread online, a group of enraged locals gathered at Singra Police Station around 10 PM, demanding Swachchha's punishment and submitting a written complaint. In response, the police swiftly carried out an operation and arrested Swachchha from the Singra Bazar area, the OC confirmed.
