Bangladeshi Student Mumtahina Earns Prestigious Full-Ride US Scholarship, Accepted to 25 Universities

Mumtahina Karim Mim, a self-taught coder and artist from Chattogram, Bangladesh, has won the prestigious Hays Memorial Scholarship to Hendrix College, USA—becoming only the second Bangladeshi to receive it. Growing up in Sarafbhata, she taught herself coding, founded a programming club, and built a robot using recycled parts. Despite facing gender stereotypes, she secured admission to 25 U.S. universities with scholarship offers exceeding BDT 10 crore. Mim aims to blend tech, art, and social impact in her studies and hopes to inspire girls to dream without limits.
