Bangladeshi ultra runner Imamur Rahman has successfully completed the 100KM category of the UTMB marathon held in China.
On Friday (April 10), during the competition held in Moganshan, China, he overcame harsh weather conditions and proudly waved the red and green flag at the finish line.
According to the organizers, the actual distance of the 100KM category was around 80 kilometers with an elevation gain of 4,600 meters. Competing against nearly 5,000 athletes, Imamur Rahman completed the challenging course in 20 hours and 3 minutes.
Shortly after the race began, heavy storms, rain, and freezing winds set in, but he showed remarkable mental strength to finish the race successfully.
Notably, within just 25 days, Imamur Rahman completed three extremely tough trail races, marking a rare milestone. Earlier, on March 15, he finished a 97KM race in Xiamen, China, and on March 29, he completed a 30KM trail race in Conghua. Before that, he became the first Bangladeshi to complete the UTMB Asia Major in Thailand.
Imamur Rahman is a pioneering Bangladeshi ultra trail runner who consistently represents Bangladesh on the international stage through his own initiative. He is now preparing to participate in upcoming international hybrid sports events to further enhance the country’s reputation.
