Funded by Denmark and conducted in collaboration with Copenhagen University, Bashar’s study utilized advanced genetic analysis to identify microbes that both produce and break down harmful gases like methane. His research focuses on making shrimp farming more environmentally friendly by adjusting farming practices to reduce emissions. The award was presented by Monaco’s Prince Albert at the 17th Planetary Health Awards, recognizing Bashar’s pioneering contributions.
