Bangladeshi-origin English boxer Ruqsana Begum has claimed the WBU World Female Flyweight Title after defeating Kadesara Jadpakdee in a thrilling bout held last week at the World Siam Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. The 41-year-old athlete, famously known as the “Warrior Princess,” has remained undefeated in the boxing ring for the past three years, solidifying her reputation as a dominant force in the sport.
According to a press release issued from Bangkok, Ruqsana has also made history by becoming the first woman ever to win world titles in two different combat sports. She previously earned a world championship in her category in muay thai (kickboxing) back in 2016.
With this latest achievement, winning the WBU title marks her sixth consecutive victory in professional boxing, further cementing her legacy as a trailblazing figure in the world of combat sports.
