Bangladeshi Hafez Muaz Mahmud secured first place in the ninth International Hifzul Quran Competition held in Turkey. He received his award from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on October 30. Muaz was chosen as Bangladesh's sole representative after winning the selection round organized by the Islamic Foundation at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque. Additionally, Bangladesh achieved first place among 123 countries in the 44th International Hifzul Quran Competition in Makkah on August 21, where Muaz also claimed first in the 15-para category. He is currently studying in the Department of Kibtab at Markazu Faizil Quran Al-Islami in Mirpur-1, Dhaka.
