Bangladeshi man sells his car, keeps a duplicate key, then steals it back and gets arrested

Md Mehedi Hasan, a 26-year-old man, has been arrested in Faridpur for stealing a private car he had previously owned and sold. The incident took place on September 25 when Saiful Islam Hridoy’s car was stolen from a garage in Goalchamot Wireless Para. After the owner reported the theft, police launched an investigation. On October 6, Mehedi Hasan was arrested in the Jajira area of Shariatpur. During interrogation, he confessed to the crime, revealing that he had kept a duplicate key after selling the car, which he used to steal it. The stolen vehicle was later recovered in Dhaka. Faridpur Superintendent of Police Md Abdul Jalil noted the unusual circumstances of the case at a press conference, stating that the car originally belonged to the accused. Hasan is set to be presented before the court as part of the legal process.
