A Bangladeshi migrant worker, Mohammad Nizam Uddin, aged 32, was killed in an Israeli airstrike on Saturday in Beirut, Lebanon. The strike occurred without warning while he was waiting at a coffee shop in the Hazmieh area, on his way to work. This marks the first known fatality of a Bangladeshi national since the recent escalation of Israeli strikes on Lebanon. Nizam, originally from Brahmanbaria, Bangladesh, had been working in Lebanon for 12 years. His family has been notified, and preparations are being made to bring his body back to Bangladesh. The Bangladeshi Embassy in Lebanon expressed its sorrow over the loss, with condolences offered by Bangladeshi Ambassador to Lebanon, Air Vice Marshal Javed Tanvir Khan, who conveyed sympathies to Nizam's family.
