She expressed pride on behalf of the entire nation that a visionary leader like Maulana Bhashani hailed from Tangail, shaping the course of Bangladesh’s history. She stressed that without Maulana Bhashani, the birth of Bangladesh would not have been possible. Known as the champion of the oppressed, he was also the first to raise his voice against the Farakka Barrage. Farida Akhter made these remarks as the chief guest at a discussion held on Monday afternoon (October 7) with members of the Tangail District Puja Celebration Committee. She underscored the importance of educating future generations about Maulana Bhashani's contributions, emphasizing that incorporating his legacy into textbooks is essential. She also assured that she would actively support such initiatives, even if it required forming a human chain.
