Chief Prosecutor of the International Crimes Tribunal, Advocate Tajul Islam, has announced that Interpol’s assistance will be sought to bring back fugitives, including former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, for their involvement in the genocide during the student protests in July-August. Speaking to journalists after a meeting at the tribunal's investigation office in Dhanmondi, Dhaka, on Sunday, Tajul stated that following the appointment of judges, arrest warrants and travel bans will be requested this week against those accused of genocide. He highlighted plans to seek Interpol's help in repatriating Sheikh Hasina and other fugitives residing abroad. So far, over 60 allegations, including cases of enforced disappearances, murders, and genocide, have been submitted to the tribunal's prosecution and investigation agency. The list of accused includes Hasina, Awami League leaders, members of the 14-party alliance, and former high-ranking law enforcement officials.
