Bangladesh has sent back an 11,500-ton shipment of Indian parboiled rice after quality tests found the consignment did not meet the required standards. The rice was imported under a government-to-government (G2G) agreement, but authorities suspended further unloading over concerns about its quality.
According to Indian media, about 3,500 tons had already been unloaded before officials ordered the remaining shipment to be returned. While some Indian traders claimed the decision was politically motivated, Bangladeshi authorities said the shipment was rejected solely due to quality concerns.
