In the first 28 days of September, remittances totaling USD 2.113 billion (211 crore 31 lakh dollars) were received through banking channels, equating to Tk 25,347 crore in Bangladeshi currency. On average, expatriates sent USD 75.5 million (7 crore 55 lakh dollars) per day during this period. This data was disclosed in the latest Bangladesh Bank report, released on Sunday (September 29). The report highlights that this year’s remittance in the first 28 days of September is approximately USD 780 million higher than the total remittance received in September of last year. In September 2022, remittances stood at USD 1.33 billion (133 crore dollars), while in September 2021, they amounted to USD 1.54 billion (154 crore dollars).
