Bangladesh is set to launch a pilot project for the online submission of bail bonds starting tomorrow (Wednesday), announced Legal Advisor Asif Nazrul. The declaration was made on Tuesday morning during the “Attorney General’s Office Internship Program 2025” inauguration at the Supreme Court auditorium.
In his address as the chief guest, Asif Nazrul noted that the existing bail procedure is cumbersome, involving around twelve separate steps for payments and formalities. “From tomorrow, the pilot initiative will allow bail bonds to be transmitted directly from the court’s verdict to the concerned prison with just one click,” he stated.
The event also marked the introduction of 25 law graduates from Dhaka University, Rajshahi University, BRAC University, and North South University, who will undertake a six-month internship at the Attorney General’s Office — the first initiative of its kind in Bangladesh. The program is supported by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
