The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has removed Indian presenter Ridhima Pathak from the presentation panel of the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), citing a “changed situation.”
Pathak’s exit comes amid recent political tensions between Bangladesh and India and related developments in cricket. This year’s BPL presentation team had included Pakistan’s Zainab alongside Pathak, while the commentary panel featured former Pakistan captain and PCB chairman Ramiz Raja, as well as England’s Darren Gough.
On 3 January, Kolkata Knight Riders dropped Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman from their IPL squad following a directive from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), a decision reportedly prompted by threats from extremist Hindutva groups.
