Bangladesh has set a Guinness World Record by simultaneously raising a maximum of 54 national flags during a special parachute jump operation. The record has been officially confirmed by Guinness World Records, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced on Tuesday.
According to Guinness World Records’ website, the achievement falls under the category “Most Flags Flown Simultaneously While Skydiving (Parachute Jump)”, accomplished by Team Bangladesh.
In a press release, ISPR stated that this unique international honor came in the month of victory. On 16 December 2025, during Bangladesh’s Victory Day celebrations in Dhaka, a special parachute jump saw 54 red-and-green national flags flown in the sky simultaneously.
The operation involved brave and skilled skydivers from the Bangladesh Armed Forces, including trained paratroopers and officials such as Ashiq Chowdhury, Executive Chairman of the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA). The entire initiative was planned and executed by the Armed Forces Division.
Guinness World Records highlighted that Team Bangladesh achieved the record by flying the highest number of flags simultaneously while skydiving. The attempt was carried out not only to break the record but also to demonstrate national unity and commemorate Bangladesh’s 54th Victory Day in a historic and memorable way.
Reacting to the record confirmation, ISPR noted that the achievement is not just a world record but a shining example of Bangladesh’s confidence, discipline, and the professionalism of its armed forces. The red-and-green flags mark a proud moment in history and are expected to inspire future generations.
