The rise in the value of the dollar has led to an increase in remittances from expatriates. Additionally, loans and grants from donor organizations have contributed to the growth. As a result, the foreign currency reserves have risen to $26.09 billion. On Sunday (December 29), Bangladesh Bank's spokesperson and executive director, Hussne Ara Shikha, confirmed this information. Speaking to *Dhaka Post*, she said, "Foreign grants have been added, and the remittance inflow remains strong. These factors have collectively boosted the reserves." However, based on the BPM-6 standard of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the reserves currently stand at $21.33 billion. Even under this calculation, the reserves have increased compared to earlier figures. Net reserves are calculated using the IMF's BPM-6 standard, which determines the net or actual reserves by deducting short-term liabilities from the total reserves.
