At the Bangladesh Investment Summit 2025, Bangladesh Bank Governor Dr Ahsan H. Mansur announced two major funds to boost the country’s startup ecosystem. These include an equity fund of Tk 800 crore backed by commercial banks for early and growth-stage startups, and a Tk 400 crore debt/refinancing fund to support their working capital needs. Announced during the Bangladesh Startup Connect 2025 event, Dr Mansur said the initiatives aim to retain young talent and curb brain drain. The move also complements the newly launched Startup Bangladesh Fund of Funds to attract both local and global venture capital.
