Bangladesh Army Chief General Waker-Uz-Zaman on Monday inaugurated the Army International Islamic Institute (AIII) at the capital's Jalshiri Housing Project.
During the ceremony, he also virtually laid the foundation stones for seven additional branches of the institute, which will be established in Barishal, Savar, Bogura, Sylhet, Chattogram, Cumilla and Jashore.
Addressing the event, General Waker-Uz-Zaman said the institute aims to nurture responsible future citizens by combining modern education with ethical values, while fostering knowledge, leadership and strong moral character.
He said the institute will follow the Cambridge English-medium curriculum alongside values-based education to support the overall development of students.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Principal Staff Officer at Army Headquarters, General Officers Commanding (GOCs) from various divisions, senior military officials, distinguished guests, teachers, students, guardians and members of the media.
