In New York, USA, a banana taped to a wall with silver duct tape was sold as artwork for $6.02 million (around 72.25 crore Bangladeshi taka). The banana, purchased for just 35 cents (42 taka) from a Bangladeshi fruit seller in Manhattan, was originally sold at his shop in the Upper East Side. The seller, who wished to remain anonymous, was unaware of the artwork's inflated price. When asked by The New York Times if he knew the banana he sold for 35 cents was later sold for over $6 million, he responded that he had no knowledge of the news. The banana, titled 'Comedian,' was created by Italian artist Maurizio Cattelan and recently posted by the New York-based auction house Sotheby’s. Initially, Sotheby’s had estimated the artwork would sell for at least $1 million.
