An LED signboard at Kamalapur Railway Station abruptly displayed the phrase "Long Live Awami League" two and a half months after the Awami League administration fell. At the station, the exhibit infuriated both passengers and train officials. Senior officials have already mandated a legal lawsuit and an investigation.
The LED signboard above the Dhaka Railway Station exit gate read "Long Live Awami League" on Saturday, October 26 from 5:57 to 9:51 a.m.
According to a source at Dhaka Railway Station, the screens were shut off as soon as the railway authorities learnt about the issue. The Railway Divisional Electric Department is in charge of overseeing the screens.
"This was done as part of a conspiracy to embarrass station officials and the railway," a responsible official at Dhaka Railway Station told the online news site Dhaka Post. Following an investigation, the Director General of Bangladesh Railway and the Secretary of the Ministry of Railways have directed that a complaint be launched. We're moving forward with the case.
