Various ministries, government offices, and agencies spent Tk 1,261 crore on Mujib Year celebrations. This expenditure was presented on Wednesday (November 20) during the 13th Advisory Council meeting held at the Secretariat, chaired by Chief Adviser Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus. According to a press release from the Cabinet Division, the total amount of Tk 1,261.05 crore was spent across the fiscal years 2018-19 to 2023-24. The expenditures were made by ministries, their subordinate offices and agencies, the Election Commission Secretariat, the Armed Forces Division, the Anti-Corruption Commission, the National Parliament, the Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General of Bangladesh, and the Bangladesh Supreme Court. The Advisory Council acknowledged the spending and decided to discontinue budget allocations for Mujib Year celebrations starting from the 2024-25 fiscal year.
