Nazma Akhtar, the mother of martyred student Golam Nafiz, expressed her enduring anger at the police for her son’s tragic death during the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement in Dhaka on August 4. Nafiz, a Banani Bidyaniketan student, was fatally shot by police and later died after being rushed to the hospital by a rickshaw puller. Speaking at a discussion at the Bangladesh National Museum on November 19, Nazma recounted the brutality and accused hospital staff of demanding fees for her son’s body.
