The Dhaka Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Court has framed charges against actress Parimoni in a case filed by businessman Nasir Uddin Mahmud, accusing her of assault and death threats. The court also issued an arrest warrant for Parimoni, as she failed to appear in court. Charges were framed against her costume designer, Junaid Bogdadi Jimi, with an arrest warrant issued for him as well. Parimoni's lawyer, Nilanjana Rifat, confirmed the court's decision. The case stems from a complaint filed by Mahmud in July 2022, where he accused Parimoni and her associates of assault and attempted murder at the Boat Club in Savar in June 2021. Mahmud claimed Parimoni threw a glass at him, injuring him. The Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) confirmed the truth of the allegations. Parimoni had earlier filed a counter case in 2021, accusing Mahmud of rape and attempted murder. Additionally, Parimoni faces charges under the Narcotics Control Act.
