In the updated curriculum, Arabic is being introduced as an additional subject at the secondary level, spanning grades 6 through 9/10. At the higher secondary level (grades 11 and 12), writings by four authors will be removed, while poems and stories by three authors will be replaced. Furthermore, revisions are proposed for the exercises related to poems and essays by five authors. Among those whose works will be excluded are Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Zafar Iqbal. Starting in the 2025 academic year, secondary students will have Arabic as the 13th subject, alongside the existing 12 subjects, reintroducing Arabic from the 2012 curriculum into the secondary program.
