Anik Sorkar, a student leader of the anti-discrimination movement, was attacked in Natore on November 10. The assault occurred in the Bongajal Rajbari area when two individuals, allegedly including Shahin Ahmed Shiplu, Assistant General Secretary of Jubo Dal, arrived on a motorcycle. They struck Anik with a wooden stick, breaking his hand. Anik stated he was returning from an anti-Awami League program when the attack took place. He believes a third party may have instigated it. Moni, one of the attackers, claimed the incident was due to a previous dispute. The police are awaiting a formal complaint before taking action.
