An Indian man, Adnan Muhammad from Bilaspur, married his bride in Himachal Pradesh over a video call after his company in Turkiye denied him leave for the wedding. The decision was prompted by the bride’s ailing grandfather, who wished to see her married soon. The virtual ceremony took place at the bride’s home in Mandi, with both families present and connected via video. A qazi conducted the nikah, with the couple exchanging "qubool hai" thrice to complete the ritual. The bride’s uncle, Akram Mohammad, expressed gratitude for the technology that enabled this unique wedding.
