Moinal Islam, General Secretary of the Anti-Discrimination Movement, has alleged that Bangladesh Pratidin journalist Naimur Rahman Durjoy made an inappropriate relationship proposal to July movement activist Souravi. According to Moinal Islam, Souravi rejected the proposal, after which she was allegedly subjected to planned harassment.
He further claimed that, in retaliation for the rejection, journalist Naimur Rahman Durjoy arranged a false extortion case against Souravi, accusing her of demanding 500 million taka. Moinal Islam stated that this was not an incident of extortion, but rather a case filed to pressure and intimidate a female activist, according to their side of the claim.
