Home Affairs Advisor Lieutenant General (Retd.) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury stated that no foreigner will be allowed to stay illegally in Bangladesh. During a briefing on law and order for Christmas and New Year's Eve, he emphasized the creation of a list to take action against illegal foreigners and assured that the border would remain on high alert to prevent illegal infiltration. He also urged the media to spread accurate news to counter misinformation. Additionally, he announced strict security measures, including the closure of bars and a ban on lanterns and fireworks during the celebrations.
