On the morning of Saturday, March 29, a team of army personnel, led by 33-year-old Captain Amin, seized a consignment of Indian liquor from the Datiaara area of Brahmanbaria city. Brahmanbaria Sadar Police Station OC Muzaffar Hossain confirmed the incident.
Around 6:30 am, the army signaled a pickup van to stop in the Kaultali area, but the vehicle ignored the signal and attempted to flee. The army chased the van and arrested it in the Datiaara Farukipara area. However, the driver and helper managed to escape before the arrest.
Upon searching the pickup, 1,480 bottles of Indian liquor, including brands like Officer's Choice Blue, Old Monk, AC Black, Ice Botka, and Magic Moment, were recovered. The total market value of the liquor is estimated at Tk 50 lakh. The pickup van was also seized, which had the words "Say No to Drugs" written on the back.
