Nazia Samanta has gone viral on social media after videos of her performing drums while wearing a hijab gained widespread attention online. Speaking to local media, she said she performed Hajj in 2025 and chose to step away from several activities afterward, including dancing. However, she decided to continue drumming, describing it as a long-time passion.
She shared that her interest in music began in childhood under the guidance of her father, who taught her multiple instruments, including guitar, violin, and drums. Nazia recently drew further attention after joining her brother’s band, Nobojat, for an impromptu performance during a live show. While the clip received some criticism, she said she is not affected by negative remarks.
According to Nazia, both wearing the hijab and playing drums are personal choices. She also credited her family, especially her father, for supporting her musical journey and encouraging her to pursue her passion.
