Civil Aviation and Tourism Adviser AF Hassan Ariff passed away on Friday at Labaid Hospital in Dhanmondi, Dhaka. According to hospital sources, he was pronounced dead upon arrival around 3:30 PM after suffering a heart attack. Ariff, a senior Supreme Court lawyer, began his legal career in 1970 and served as the attorney general from 2001 to 2005. He also held the position of legal adviser to the caretaker government from 2008 to 2009. On August 8, he was appointed as an adviser to the interim government, initially overseeing the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development, and Cooperatives, as well as the Ministry of Land, before taking charge of the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism.
