Every Friday, Gausia Hotel in Patia, Chittagong, serves free meals to 150-200 needy individuals, honoring them as special guests. Founded by three brothers—Nurul Alam, Abul Kalam, and Abul Kasem—the initiative stems from their own struggles with poverty. The brothers, inspired by their late father, started this tradition two years ago to ease the suffering of others. Guests enjoy meals like fish, chicken, or biryani, served with care. Beyond food, each guest receives 10 taka. Nurul Alam recalls their humble beginnings, from selling guavas and tea to running a small eatery. Their father emphasized kindness and quality, which built the hotel’s reputation. Now successful, Gausia Hotel continues to honor its roots by helping the less fortunate, reflecting the values of empathy and hospitality instilled by their father.
