A Hindu leader, Vishnu Gupta, president of Hindu Sena, has filed a lawsuit in Ajmer court claiming that the famous shrine of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti was built on top of a Shiva temple. He presented three arguments in support of this claim, based on a book by retired judge Harbilas Sardar, and requested the court to allow him to perform worship at the alleged temple. Syed Nasiruddin Chishti, a descendant of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti, criticized the lawsuit as a "cheap popularity tactic" and stated that it misleads society and the nation. The court has accepted the case, issued notices to all parties, and scheduled the next hearing for December 20.
