7 Palli Bidyut officials suspended after IUT students' tragic deaths in Gazipur

Seven officials of Mymensingh Palli Bidyut Samity-2, including four officers and three linemen, have been temporarily suspended following the electrocution deaths of three Islamic University of Technology (IUT) students and injuries to around 60 others in Gazipur. The tragedy occurred when a picnic bus carrying the students hit an overhead live wire in Sreepur. The victims, all Mechanical Engineering students, were identified as Mozammel Hossain Naim, 24, Mostakim Rahman Mahin, 22, and Jobayer Alam Sakib, 22. Investigation committees have been formed by both the Gazipur Deputy Commissioner and the IUT authority to determine the causes of the incident.
