“My baby is slipping away in front of me, and I can’t do anything to save him,” says Palestinian mother Umm Muhammad al-Masri.
Her seven-month-old son, Ramadan al-Masri, is battling a severe bacterial skin infection that spreads through the blood, leaving him with fever and painful blisters.
His health is deteriorating daily as Gaza faces extreme shortages of water, food, and medicine under Israel’s ongoing war and blockade.
Ramadan is among countless children in Gaza fighting for survival. Since January, Gaza’s Health Ministry reports 103 children have died from malnutrition, while at least 18,430 children have been killed by Israel since October 7, 2023.
