Marium Nasreen Afsana, a young artist from Bangladesh, has earned international recognition by winning an award at the ‘World Youth Art Seeds’ event, organised by the World Institute of Youth Art – Centre for UNESCO. The event took place in Troyes, France, from June 17 to 21.
Marium won in the 3–5 age group category for her painting titled City Kite Festival, according to a press release.
This year’s event, themed ‘Art and Culture: A Path towards Peace’, featured nearly 4,000 young artists from 84 countries.
A student of Golden Eagle Nursery in Dhaka, Marium attended the exhibition at Espace Argence in Troyes, where her artwork was showcased alongside creations from other young talents across the globe.
Sharing her excitement after receiving the award, Marium said, “I am happy to be here.”
She is currently learning painting at the Alliance Française de Dhaka in Gulshan.
