5 arrested for holding protest meeting against Bashir-Farooki's appointment as advisor

A meeting held under the banner of "Tawhidi Chhatra Janata" in Chattogram to protest the appointment of Akij Group’s Managing Director Sheikh Bashir Uddin and filmmaker Mostofa Sarwar Farooki as advisors in the interim government was disrupted. On Monday (November 11), police detained five individuals from the gathering. Among those detained, four names were identified: Shibli Noman, Osama, Mobin, and Tawkir. Shibli is reportedly the convener of Tawhidi Chhatra Janata Chattogram, while the others are said to be members. Local sources reported that as the meeting began, 8-10 people gathered in front of the Press Club, holding a banner. Police intervened, detained five individuals, and dispersed the crowd, while others managed to escape. The banner read, "Protest meeting against the fallen puppet Awami government’s collaborators, autocratic government's allies Farooki and Bashir being made advisors."
