Thirty individuals have been arrested in connection with the murder of lawyer Saiful Islam, who was killed during an attack on the court premises in Chittagong. The arrests were made on November 27 in a joint force operation across various locations in the city. Chittagong City Police's Additional Deputy Commissioner Kazi Mohammad Tarek Aziz confirmed the arrests, stating that verification and selection are ongoing, and two cases are in process. Following the incident, law enforcement has increased security across the city, with joint teams from the army, RAB, BGB, and police deployed at key areas. Prior to the murder, Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari, a spokesperson for the Bangladesh Sammilit Sanatani Jagran Jote, was arrested in Dhaka and brought to court, where his followers clashed with law enforcement, leading to the tragic killing of Saiful Islam.
