3 killed in clash between Zubair and Saad supporters at Ijtema Maidan

Three people were killed, and over 100 injured in a violent clash between followers of Maulana Zubair and Saad factions over control of the Tongi Bishwa Ijtema ground in Gazipur early Tuesday (December 17). The conflict began when Saad faction members entered the ground, prompting Zubair supporters to throw stones, escalating into a fierce clash. Two individuals died on the spot, while one succumbed to injuries at Dhaka Medical College Hospital. The deceased include residents of Kishoreganj and Dakshinkhan, Dhaka. The situation remains tense as police work to restore order. Many injured were taken to local hospitals, with critical cases referred to Dhaka Medical College. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation to maintain law and order.
