The Foreign Ministry has not yet received any request from the Home Ministry regarding the extradition of deposed Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina from India, a spokesperson confirmed on Thursday. This statement comes as legal proceedings in her case have commenced. During a press briefing at the Foreign Ministry, Mohammad Rafiqul Alam, Director-General of the Public Diplomacy Wing, addressed the matter in response to a query. He also announced that Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus would meet with envoys from 28 European countries on Sunday to discuss topics such as current affairs and trade cooperation. Notably, 20 diplomats will travel from Delhi as their countries lack missions in Bangladesh, while the remaining eight are based in Dhaka. "The meeting will explore new areas of cooperation alongside discussions on the Rohingya crisis, GSP+ facilities in the post-LDC era, and a partnership and cooperation agreement with Bangladesh," DG Alam added. It is widely speculated that the government will also address ongoing propaganda in certain sections of the Indian media targeting Bangladesh.
